paraDIGMA groep Launches FIT strategy to make sustainable employability practical within organizations

Nieuwegein, May 15, 2024 - paraDIGMA groep, expert in the field of sustainable employability, launches the FIT strategy. With this approach, companies gain insight into the main risks, opportunities, and solution directions within their organization when it comes to sustainable employability. Based on appropriate advice, an ambition plan and programs for the short and long term, organizations put power behind their sustainable employability ambitions.

The reason for developing the FIT strategy is the growing need among organizations to give hands and feet to the umbrella concept of sustainable employability. The FIT strategy is based on a combination of twenty years of experience and scientific insights, partly through the collaboration with Triple i of Prof. Dr. Schaufeli. With the FIT strategy, paraDIGMA groep is sailing a new course in which it is shifting from a focus on curation (remedy) to prevention (prevent) and amplification (reinforce what is going well).

The FIT model

Using the self-developed FIT model, part of the FIT strategy, we look at the building blocks of a healthy organization within four domains: Mental FIT, Physical FIT, Organizational FIT and Job FIT. The first two domains look at the mental and physical condition of employees. The Organization FIT domain looks at how well an employee fits in with the organization. For example, it looks at how the organization scores on culture and values. The Job FIT domain looks at whether employees fit the current job.

To gain insight into how healthy an organization is, the four domains are measured via scientifically reliable and validated, digital questionnaires combined with in-depth interviews. In this way, organizations gain insight into the key building blocks of a healthy and successful organization. The results are presented across the four FIT domains, providing a unique perspective on different generations. Employees also gain insight into their own results within the FIT domains.

Jan Pieter van Valkenburg, occupational and organizational psychologist and consultancy lead at paraDIGMA groep: "The employability issue is more topical than ever within organizations thanks to historically high absenteeism, severe labor market shortages, a lot of unwanted turnover and aging. As a result, we notice that organizations mainly focus on the absent employee. How do we get an employee back to work as quickly as possible? While the absence policy is often only about three to twenty percent of the workforce. More effective is to investigate where absenteeism comes from and what you can do about it. And include causes of capacity problems, turnover, engagement and job satisfaction. Then you are working on the sustainable employability of all your employees. I am very proud that we can now support organizations in this with our FIT strategy."
