PRODUCTIVITY
Increase your employees' productivity with sustainable employability
Organizations are facing a major challenge: the demand for employees has risen sharply, but the supply cannot meet this demand. The work that needs to be done keeps piling up, but you only have so many employees to do it. Then it's nice that your employees are making the most of their productivity!
What is productivity?
Productivity is about the relationship between the efficiency and effectiveness in which employees can perform their work. The more efficient and effective an employee is, the higher the productivity.
How do you increase productivity?
Productivity is a corollary of sustainable employability: when employees work in a positive organizational culture, experience personal leadership and when there is a good match between employee, job and organization, an employee experiences a higher degree of sustainable employability than when he or she does not have these factors. Employees who are sustainably employable experience more job happiness, are more vital, have less absenteeism and are more productive.
Productivity and workforce planning
With the tight labor market, as an employer you obviously don't want your organization to suffer. When employees are sustainably employable, they are more flexible and better able to deal with the changes to come. To complement this, strategic HR offers many opportunities. Good personnel planning ensures that the demand that is going to come from outside can be anticipated in a timely manner, so that staff can be recruited or shed in a timely manner. This prevents your employees' workloads from getting too high, that they may start doing work with which there is no match, and they start losing productivity. Because when employees lose productivity, you need more people to do the job in a timely manner.
The effectiveness of working from home
After the corona crisis, working (partially) from home has become the norm at many companies. Hybrid working has many advantages such as not wasting time standing in traffic jams and being able to schedule the day yourself. Still, whether or not being effective while working from home is different for everyone. For example, one person has fewer distractions at home than in the office because he or she works alone at home; for another, there are more distractions because the children are at home. A good balance and division between working in the office and working from home offers the most productivity and this also keeps the employee most connected to the workplace.
